Brother Michael Mathis has pitched an excellent idea of assembling teams to address some of the needed projects on the buildings and grounds at the church. The idea is for these teams to consist of 4 guys, a captain (team leader and journeyman of the craft), journeyman, and two helpers.
Here are some of the projects we would like to address.
- INSTALL DROP CEILING
– Carpenter
- Complete the installation of the drop ceiling in the backstage area of the main sanctuary.
- MODIFY DOORS IN HALLS A, B, AND C
– Carpenter
- Install closers and modify doors to operate independent of one another.
- TRIM WORK
– Trim Carpenter
- Trim out the top of the drum cage.
- Trim out the camera platform in the fellowship hall.
- STORM DRAIN CLEANOUT & REPAIR
– Plumber
- Replace the transition pieces between the down spouts and the corrugated pipe on the North side of the building.
- CONNECT OFFICE A/C CONDENSATE LINE TO SEWER SYSTEM
– Plumber
- We believe at least one (suspect the office) a/c condensate line is causing a continuous wet condition on the northside of the building. We would like to locate this source and connect it to a sewer drain.
- ELECTRICAL WORK
– Electrician
- Assess the conduit situation and run electricity to the shed, install lights and outlets, and wiring.
- Replace failed GFCI outlet on the North side of the fellowship hall.
- Repair exterior lights on both sides of the fellowship hall (Possibly convert them to LEDs).
- Install bay lights in the Fellowship Hall
- Service feed panel door.
- BAPTISTRY HEATER
– Craft needed, Electrician and Plumber
- Run heavier gage wiring from the panel to the pump room, install new heater, and connect piping.
- GENERAL REPAIRS
– Handy Man.
- Demo green storage shed.
- Cleanout, build shelves, and re-organize shed.
- Replace miscellaneous ceiling tiles throughout.
- Patch concrete in parking lot.
- Re-stripe parking spaces and curbs
- Repair the Northeast brick column on drive-thru
- Install permanent hall signs for the fellowship hall.
If you have skills of any level that could help address these needs, please sign up.
In the sign up, there will be 3 selections to choose from within each craft. Please see below to better understand these selections.
CAPTAIN – Captains should be Masters in the craft they sign up for. The captain will be responsible for communicating with his team about when and how they will go about the job, accessing the job to determine material and tools required, and communicating with Pastor Bill Kilpatrick, Pastor Bryan Welker, or Bro. Michael Mathis as necessary.
JOURNEYMAN – Journeyman should be experienced and competent enough in the craft that they are able to handle tasks unassisted.
HELPER – Little or no experience in the craft.
