Thank You for Your Generosity

The financial operation of our fellowship is dependent on the faithful and obedient giving of our members. We are a giving church supporting missions and the needs of our community. We cannot out give God!

Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need. Mal 3:10

Jesus taught His disciples the importance of generosity while he was observing the treasury in the temple.

And he sat down opposite the treasury and watched the people putting money into the offering box. Many rich people put in large sums. And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which make a penny. And he called his disciples to him and said to them, “Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the offering box. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.” Mar 12:41-44

Although the quantity of what the widow gave was literally nothing in comparison to the contributions made by the rich, Jesus recognized the quality of her gift as many times greater than that of the rich. What she gave, she gave in faith, in love, and with a view of the glory of God. She gave from a heart of generosity. The Apostle Paul reiterated this teaching to the Corinthians.

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2Co 9:6-7

When we willingly and cheerfully give of our time, talents, mercy, forgiveness, finances, and commitment, God is faithful to willingly and faithfully give these things back to us in abundance, it is His divine law of reciprocity. The Apostle James said, “every good and perfect gift comes from above”.

Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38
